'Aad denied the messengers 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 I am for you an honest Messenger. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 And orchards and springs. 134 'Indeed, I fear for you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 This is naught but a custom of the ancients; 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 Eventually they gave the lie to him and We destroyed them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
