And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
