The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
