The Unbelievers say of those who believe: "If (this Message) were a good thing, (such men) would not have gone to it first, before us!" And seeing that they guide not themselves thereby, they will say, "this is an (old,) falsehood!" 11 And before it there hath been the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy. And this is a Book confirming it, in Arabic speech, that it may warn those who have done wrong and as glad tidings unto the well-doers. 12 Surely those who say, 'Our Lord is God' and then go straight, no fear shall be on them, neither shall they sorrow. 13 Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever), a reward for what they used to do. 14 We have charged the human to be kind to his parents. With much pain his mother bore him, and with much pain she gave birth to him; his bearing and weaning are thirty months. When he grows to manhood and attains his fortieth year, he says: 'Make me so disposed My Lord, so that I give thanks for the favors with which You have blessed me, my father and mother, and that I will do good deeds that will please You. And, make me righteous and also my descendants. To You I repent, and I am among those who surrender' 15 Those are they from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their evil deeds. (They are) among the owners of the Garden. This is the true promise which they were promised (in the world). 16 And the one who said to his parents, “Uff – I am fed up with both of you! What! You promise me that I will be raised again whereas generations have passed away before me?” And they both seek Allah’s help and say to him, “May you be ruined, accept faith! Indeed Allah’s promise is true”; he therefore answers, “This is nothing except stories of former people.” 17 It is these upon whom the Word has proved true, among the nations that passed away before them, of jinns and men; indeed they were losers. 18 And for all there will be ranks from what they do, that He may pay them for their deeds; and they will not be wronged. 19 And on the Day when the unbelievers will be exposed to the Fire, they will be told: “You have exhausted your share of the bounties in the life of the world, and you took your fill of enjoyments. So, degrading chastisement shall be yours on this Day for you waxed arrogant in the earth without justification and acted iniquitously.” 20
