(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
