We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
