Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
