Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
