Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Then I swear by the setting of the stars, 75 (and that is indeed a mighty oath, did you but know it) 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). 79 a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds! 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 And to give (it) the lie you make your means of subsistence. 82 So why was it not, when the soul reaches up to the throat, – 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 And We are nigher unto him than ye are, but ye behold not 85 why, if you are not at Our disposal, 86 Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 then happiness and delight and Gardens of Bliss are his. 89 If he is of those of the right hand, 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 its dwelling will be boiling water 93 And roasting in a Blaze. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 Then praise your Lord, the most supreme. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
