Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 They used to say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
