The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
