Kingship (Al-Mulk)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Mountain (Al-Toor) before Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 Who created death and life that He might try you as to which of you is better in deed. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving; 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then look again and again. Your gaze will come back to you confused and exhausted. 4 And We adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and made them things to stone Satans; and We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blaze. 5 For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination. 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 As though it would burst with fury. Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its wardens will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 Those who fear their Lord in secret will receive forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men). 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
