Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
