WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 on the right and on the left in groups? 37 Does every man among them aspire to be admitted into the Garden of serenity? 38 By no means! verily We! We have created them from that which they know. 39 I swear by the Lord of the easts and the wests that We have the power 40 to replace them with [people] better than they are; for there is nothing to prevent Us [from doing what We will]. 41 Therefore leave them alone to go on with the false discourses and to sport until they come face to face with that day of theirs with which they are threatened; 42 The Day whereon they shall come forth from the sepulchres hastily, as though they were to an altar hurrying. 43 Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised. 44
