Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They used to say before: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
