The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
