Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
