Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 guiding towards consciousness of what is right; and so we have come to believe in it. And we shall never ascribe divinity to anyone beside our Sustainer, 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 We used to sit near by and try to listen to the heavens, but shooting flames now await those who try to do that. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only – therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
