The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
