The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
