Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
