The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

WOE unto every slanderer, fault-finder! 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
