The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 In extending columns. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
