Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 He will be plunged in flaming Fire, 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
