In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 The Day of Judgement. 40
