Al-A 'araaf 14 of 24
Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed. 109 "He wishes to drive you away from the land. So what do you advise?" 110 They said (unto Pharaoh): Put him off (a while) - him and his brother - and send into the cities summoners, 111 to summon every wellversed sorcerer to you' 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh and asked, "Shall we have a reward, if we should prevail?" 113 He said: "Yea, (and more),- for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)." 114 The magicians asked Moses, "Will you throw your staff first or shall we?" 115 "You cast it first," answered Moses. When they cast their spell, they bewitched the eyes of the people and petrified them by conjuring up a great charm. 116 And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. 117 ۞ Thus was the truth established, and their doings proved in vain. 118 Thus they were overcome and made to look abject. 119 And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]. 120 And said: "We have come to believe in the Lord of all the worlds, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron' 122 Firon said: Do you believe in Him before I have given you permission? Surely this is a plot which you have secretly devised in this city, that you may turn out of it its people, but you shall know: 123 “I swear I will cut off your hands and your feet from alternate sides and then crucify you all.” 124 They said: Surely to our Lord shall we go back: 125 And what is it for which thou takest vengeance on us save that we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they came unto us? Our Lord! pour out upon us perseverance and cause us to die as Muslims. 126

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
