When He made the slumber overcome you, so it was as a peacefulness from Him, and sent down water from the sky upon you to purify you with it, and to remove the impurity of Satan from you, and to give your hearts fortitude and firmly establish your feet with it. 11 (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes." 12 For they had opposed God and His Apostle; but whosoever opposes God and his Apostle (should know) that God is severe in retribution. 13 This! taste it then, and know that for the infidels is the torment of the Fire. 14 Believers, whenever you encounter a hostile force of unbelievers, do not turn your backs to them in flight. 15 And whoever shall turn his back to them on that day-- unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company-- then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be. 16 You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. 17 that is what happened, and God will surely undermine the design of those who deny the truth. 18 If you have been praying for victory, [O believers] - victory has now indeed come unto you. And if you abstain [from sinning,] it will be for your own good; but if you revert to it, We shall revoke [Our promise of aid] - and never will your community be of any avail to you, however great its numbers: for, behold, God is [only] with those who believe! 19
