(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None but God can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
