T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
