T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent down the Quran unto you (O Muhammad SAW) to cause you distress, 2 But as a reminder unto him who feareth, 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: 'Stay here, for I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a lighted torch or find at the fire guidance' 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Verily the Hour is coming - I wish to conceal it - in order that every one may be requited according to that which he hath endeavoured. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 Moses threw it on the ground and suddenly he saw that it was a moving serpent. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
