The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
