The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 surely your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
