Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
