and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
