And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
