Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
