Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
