The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 For a mighty day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
