Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
