Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the swift scatterers 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
