Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
