Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 Thamud, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
