Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
