▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I swear by Mawaqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse). 75 And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great. 76 That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable, 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 None touch it except the purified. 79 It has been revealed by the Lord of all the worlds. 80 Is it this discourse that ye hold lightly? 81 and do you make it your living to cry lies? 82 Wherefore then - when the soul cometh up to the wind-pipe 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 We are closer to him than you, but you cannot see. 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, 88 there shall be repose and ease, and a Garden of Delight; 89 And if he is of those on the right, – 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And roasting at hell-fire. 94 Verily this! this is the very truth. 95 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 96
True are the words of God the Almighty.
