I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 a warning to humans, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 "Nor used to feed the needy." 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
