۞ Allah it is Who hath made the sea of service unto you that the ships may run thereon by His command, and that ye may seek of His bounty, and that haply ye may be thankful; 12 He subjugated for you whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, each and everything. Verily there are signs in this for those who reflect. 13 Say thou unto those who believe, let them forgive those who hope not for the days of Allah, that He may requite a community for that which they have been earning. 14 Whoever acts righteously, does so to his own good; and whoever commits an evil will suffer its consequence. All of you will then be sent back to your Lord. 15 We gave Scriptures, wisdom and prophethood to the Children of Israel, and provided them with good things and favoured them over all other people. 16 And We vouchsafed unto them evidences of the affair. And they differed not except after the knowledge had come unto them, through spite among themselves. Verily thy Lord will decide between them on the Day of Judgment concerning that wherein they have been differing. 17 Then We put you, [O Muhammad], on an ordained way concerning the matter [of religion]; so follow it and do not follow the inclinations of those who do not know. 18 They will be of no use to thee in the sight of Allah: it is only Wrong-doers (that stand as) protectors, one to another: but Allah is the Protector of the Righteous. 19 This (Quran) is a clear insight and evidence for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy for people who have Faith with certainty. 20 Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge. 21
