Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 Warn the men. 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 running away from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
