In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Nor given leave to make excuses. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 "Move towards what you used to deny!" 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
