Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
