۞ And those who do not expect to meet Us said, “Why were the angels not sent down to us or we been able to see our Lord?” Indeed they thought too highly of themselves and they turned extremely rebellious. 21 The day when they will see the angels – that day will not be of any happiness for the guilty – and they will cry, “O God, erect a barrier between us and them!” 22 Then We shall advance upon the work which they have done and render it as scattered dust. 23 The dwellers of Paradise (i.e. those who deserved it through their Faith and righteousness) will, on that Day, have the best abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending. 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 and a Day on which the evildoer will bite his hands [in despair,] exclaiming: "Oh, would that I had followed the path shown to me by the apostle! 27 "Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! 28 For it was he, who had deluded me to reject the Admonition which had come to me. Satan has proved very treacherous to man. " 29 And the Messenger will say, "O my Lord, my people had made this Qur'an the object of their ridicule." 30 Even so have We appointed unto every prophet an opponent from among the guilty; but Allah sufficeth for a Guide and Helper. 31 Now they who are bent on denying the truth are wont to ask. "Why has not the Qur'an been bestowed on him from on high in one single revelation?" [it has been revealed] in this manner so that We might strengthen thy heart thereby - for We have so arranged its component parts that they form one consistent whole 32 And no question do they bring to thee but We reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation (thereof). 33 Those who will be pushed faces forward into Hell will be in a worse position, farther away from the path. 34
