The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
تشير بداية ونهاية كل سورة الى السور المنزلة قبلها و بعدها. يمكنك الضغط على أي منها للذهاب إليها.
The beginning and end of every Surah mention the Surahs sent down before and after. You can click or tap on either one to go there.
